How bail works in Wyoming
A bail bond (a surety bond) lets your loved one come home before their hearing. You pay a fraction of the full bond; we guarantee the rest to the court.
Call or start online. A bondsman confirms the bond amount with the Park County Detention Center, qualifies you as the indemnitor, and sets up the agreement.
Documents are e-signed from your phone. Pay the premium on the invoice, or set up a payment plan that fits your budget. No collateral is needed in most cases.
Our local agent posts the bond at Park County Detention Center. Release typically follows once the jail finishes processing, often within a few hours.

Local guide
Bail City Bail Bonds writes surety bonds for every jail and court in Park County, with the county seat in Cody. Roughly 31,082 people live in the county, spread across Cody, Powell, Meeteetse and Frannie, and nearly every arrest in the county ends up at the same place: Park County Detention Center. Our licensed Wyoming bail agents post bonds there 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, and we can start the paperwork over the phone or online before our agent is even on the road.
Park County Detention Center is located at 1402 River View Dr, Cody, WY 82414 and is run by the Park County Sheriff's Office. After an arrest, booking takes one to three hours. During booking the jail records the charges, fingerprints and photographs the person, and checks for holds from other agencies. The Sheriff's Office publishes an online inmate roster that lists the bond amount and bond type once booking is complete. If the bond type is listed as cash or surety, we can post it. If it is cash only, the full amount must be paid directly to the jail or court, and we can still help you understand your options.
Wyoming handles bond in two courts. Misdemeanors and the initial appearance on most charges are heard in Park County Circuit Court, located at 1002 Sheridan Ave, Room 206, Cody, WY 82414 (Powell office: 109 W 14th St, Powell, WY 82435, (307) 754-8890) ((307) 527-8590). Felony cases are bound over to 5th Judicial District Court, part of the 5th Judicial District of Wyoming, at 1002 Sheridan Ave, Cody, WY 82414 (P.O. Box 1960, Cody, WY 82414) ((307) 527-8690). Many people arrested on a weekend do not see a judge until the next business day, and for some offenses the jail uses a bond schedule so bail can be posted immediately. Either way, once a bond amount is set we can move quickly.
Bail City's rates are 10%–20% of the full bond amount, paid once as a premium that is not refunded. On a $2,500 bond that is $250 to $500; on a $10,000 bond, $1,000 to $2,000. Payment plans start as low as 1% down, major discounts can be applied with approved collateral, and collateral is not required in most cases. The court's full bond amount is guaranteed by us, and as long as the defendant attends every court date, nothing further is owed.
Once our agent delivers the bond to Park County Detention Center, release depends on how busy booking is. Most releases in Cody happen within a few hours. The defendant leaves with paperwork showing the next court date in Park County Circuit Court or 5th Judicial District Court. Keeping that date, and every date after it, is the only condition of the bond. If something comes up, call your Bail City agent before the hearing rather than after; we can often help get a date reset before a warrant is issued.
We help families in Cody, Powell, Meeteetse and Frannie, as well as ranches, work camps, and highway stops anywhere in the county. You do not need to come to Cody: bail paperwork is signed electronically from your phone, payment is handled online or by phone, and our local agent handles the jail in person. Out-of-state families use this process every day to bring someone home from Park County.
